FAQ
A cleanse should be a comfortable experience! It is very discreet as you are fully covered with soft, plush towel/drape cloth, and there is generally no odor or sound produced. A highly trained, certified therapist is focused exclusively on your needs at all times. The session usually consists of up to 60 minutes of table time, followed by some “toilet time” afterwards.
Each colonic room has a private bathroom, to allow for a discreet experience.
The rooms were designed to be restful to the senses with subdued lighting, music, and candles.
-
How many sessions do I need? The number of sessions depends on the individual. Each person’s goals differ, yet colonics can be used as part of any regular maintenance program.
-
Can I use Colon Hydrotherapy before a medical procedure?More and more doctors are suggesting Colon Hydrotherapy as a part of the preparation process for medical procedures. Ask your doctor if this is an option for you. No one at Midwest Cleanse diagnoses or prescribes.
-
Does it hurt to have a colonic? No, there is no pain. You may experience slight discomfort or cramping, which is usually a pocket of gas working its way out of the body. There is no pain during the process, and our highly-trained therapists keep your comfort in mind throughout the entire session. The more comfortable the body, the better the results.
-
Are your therapists certified?Yes, all therapists are certified with the National Board for Colon Hydrotherapy and the International Association of Colon Hydrotherapy.
-
Is it embarrassing to have a colonic? No, you are completely covered during the session. Due to the design of the machine, there is no odor or sound, and everything is contained within hosing. Our therapists help our clients maintain the utmost dignity throughout the session. We pride ourselves on our professionalism and would never create an environment where clients feel awkward or embarrassed.
-
What should I wear?Comfortable clothes are recommended. You will only be undressing from the waist down, so feel free to wear a comfy t-shirt or sweatshirt if you'd like. It is recommended to bring a pair of socks if you wear sandals to the appointment. Please do NOT wear long dresses, unless you intend to remove it for the session.
-
Do I have to fast ahead of time? No, not necessarily. However, it is suggested that you avoid eating two hours before your session. It is not a requirement to fast leading up the appointment.
-
Can I eat afterwards?Yes, you can eat immediately afterwards, if you would like to. It is recommended that you eat lighter foods such as vegetable soup or something similar. You may want to abstain from heavier foods like gluten products, red meats, and spicy foods for a day or two.
-
Do you take insurance? We do not currently accept insurance. However, we have many clients that use their FSA/HSA accounts.
-
